Precision Tree Removal by Certified Arborists
Crane-assisted capability, near-structure expertise, and ANSI Z133 safety compliance on every removal. Fully insured with written, not-to-exceed estimates.

What It Is & When You Need It
Tree removal is the complete dismantling and removal of a tree from your property. This may involve straightforward felling for trees with adequate clearance, or complex technical operations for trees near structures, power lines, fences, or other obstacles.
Pelfrey specializes in the removals that other companies turn down: large-diameter trees leaning toward roofs, trees intertwined with utility lines, storm-damaged trees with unpredictable structural integrity, and trees in tight-access areas where conventional equipment cannot reach.
Every Pelfrey removal is planned by an ISA-certified arborist who evaluates the tree's condition, lean, weight distribution, and proximity to structures before writing a detailed work plan. For hazardous removals, a certified arborist is on site for the duration of the operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you remove a tree close to my house?
Trees near structures are removed in small sections using precision rigging. Each section is lowered on ropes to a controlled drop zone. For trees directly over roofs or in extremely tight spaces, we use crane-assisted removal to lift sections vertically away from the structure. An ISA-certified arborist is on site directing every cut.
What does crane-assisted removal mean?
Crane-assisted removal uses a mobile crane to lift tree sections away from structures and obstacles. The crane operator works in coordination with the climber and ground crew to lift each section vertically, eliminating the risk of swinging or falling debris. This method is the safest approach for large trees near buildings, pools, and fences.
How do you protect my lawn and fence during removal?
We place plywood ground mats to distribute equipment weight and prevent lawn damage. Landscape beds and fences receive protective barriers. Drop zones are cleared and padded. After removal, we repair any minor ground disturbance and rake the area clean.
Is Pelfrey insured for tree removal near my house?
Yes. Pelfrey carries full general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage on every job. We can provide a certificate of insurance naming you or your property as an additional insured before work begins. This is standard practice for all Pelfrey clients.
Do you handle stump grinding after removal?
Yes. Stump grinding can be included in your removal estimate as a bundled service, or scheduled separately. We grind stumps below grade and backfill with the grinding debris or clean topsoil, depending on your preference.
What safety standards does Pelfrey follow for tree removal?
All Pelfrey removals comply with ANSI Z133, the American national standard for arboricultural operations safety. Our crews use rated climbing systems, rigging hardware, and personal protective equipment. For hazardous work, an ISA-certified arborist is on site directing operations.
Storm Damage? We Respond 24/7.
Active hazards -- fallen trees on structures, blocked driveways, downed limbs near power lines -- get same-day triage.
