Certifications & Standards

ISA Certified Arborist

International Society of Arboriculture certification requires passing a comprehensive examination on tree biology, diagnosis, safety, and care. Our arborists maintain active ISA credentials with ongoing continuing education.

TCIA Member Company

As a Tree Care Industry Association member, we adhere to the industry's highest standards for professionalism, safety, and ethics. TCIA membership demonstrates our commitment to advancing the tree care profession.

ANSI Z133 Compliance

ANSI Z133 is the American national standard for arboricultural operations safety. It covers everything from climbing and rigging to electrical hazards and equipment operation. Every Pelfrey crew follows these standards on every job.

OSHA Safety Training

All field personnel complete regular OSHA safety training covering fall protection, hazard communication, PPE requirements, and emergency procedures. Training records are maintained and updated annually.

Insurance Coverage

Pelfrey Tree Service carries full general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage on every job, in every market. This is not optional, not seasonal, and not limited to certain job types.

General Liability: Covers property damage and third-party injury claims arising from our operations. This includes damage to structures, fences, vehicles, landscaping, and underground utilities.

Workers Compensation: Covers our employees in the event of a workplace injury. Without workers comp, a homeowner can be held liable if a tree worker is injured on their property. Pelfrey carries workers comp specifically to protect you from this risk.

Certificate of Insurance: We provide a current certificate of insurance to any client upon request. We can name you or your property as an additional insured. Request a certificate at any point during the estimate process or before work begins.

Hazardous Removal Protocol

How Pelfrey approaches trees near structures, power lines, and roofs.

1

Site Assessment

ISA-certified arborist evaluates the tree, surrounding structures, utility lines, and ground conditions. Risk factors are documented in writing.

2

Work Plan Development

The arborist creates a detailed removal plan specifying rigging points, drop zones, equipment requirements, and crew positioning.

3

Utility Coordination

If the tree is near power lines, we coordinate with the utility company for line de-energization or protective covering before work begins.

4

Ground Protection

Plywood mats, ground barriers, and landscape protection measures are placed before any cutting begins to protect lawns, driveways, and garden beds.

5

Controlled Removal

The tree is removed in sections using precision rigging, crane assistance when required, and controlled lowering to designated drop zones.

6

Arborist On-Site Oversight

For hazardous removals, an ISA-certified arborist remains on site for the duration of the operation, directing the crew and making real-time safety decisions.

Damage Claim Process

If property damage occurs during a Pelfrey job, the crew lead documents it immediately with photos and a written description. Your market's operations manager contacts you within 2 hours. Within 24 hours, you receive a written acknowledgment and proposed resolution timeline.

We coordinate all repairs at our expense. You do not need to file a claim or contact our insurance company. We handle it. If you are unsatisfied with the resolution, you have a named escalation contact at our corporate office.
